The Vera Institute of Justice is an independent nonprofit organization that combines expertise in research, demonstration projects, and technical assistance to help leaders in government and civil society improve the systems people rely on for safety and justice. Vera’s Center on Sentencing and Corrections (CSC) works with state and local partners to help them develop cost-effective strategies for protecting public safety. CSC accomplishes this by providing non-partisan technical assistance and research support to government officials and criminal justice professionals.

Responsibilities
Working closely with the Center Director and other staff, the Center Coordinator is responsible for assuming a variety of administrative and programmatic duties. These may include the following: 
• Event planning, organization, and coordination for off-site, on-site, and multi-jurisdictional meetings;
• Processing and tracking invoices and expenses;
• Maintaining center databases;
• Coordinating staff and consultant travel;
• Fielding external requests for information;
• Conducting state-specific and justice-related research;
• Assisting in the writing and editing of publications for policymakers and other national audiences on criminal justice issues;
• Assisting in the preparation of presentations on sentencing and corrections; and
• Assisting on other projects as assigned.

Qualifications
• The Center Coordinator should possess a college degree. 
• Interest in social justice, commitment to fairness, and knowledge of criminal justice issues are preferred. 
• Qualified candidates will be reliable, responsible, and have exceptional organizational, communication and people skills.
• Experienced with PC platform, Microsoft Office programs, and database management.
• Strong analytic and writing skills are a must.

Salary
Low to mid-30’s, based on experience. Excellent  benefits.
